An Introduction from the Leader of the Council

This appointment comes at a critical time for local government, a time of challenge but, above all, opportunity.

At Mole Valley we already have a strong track record of adapting successfully to change and “punching above our weight” but we know that, if we are to maintain the high standards we have set for ourselves, we must do even more.

I believe that innovation and collaborative working are key to success. Strong partnerships in environmental health, building control, wellbeing and waste are already delivering significant efficiency savings and ensuring the sustainability of our services. More importantly however, this joint working is a way of delivering even better services for our communities.

Our departing Chief Executive has done a great deal to deliver our vision, build strong networks and a dynamic team and we are looking for an exceptional individual to build on that good work and take us through the next stage in our development.

We want someone who will lead by example, inspire and motivate a great workforce and continue to develop the relationships that will ensure Mole Valley has a strong voice on the wider stage.

You will enable us to seize the opportunities for growth and development that the current policy environment offers local authorities with new ways of working, commercial ventures and broader place-based partnerships, whether these are with the community, the voluntary sector or private enterprise.

Mole Valley is one of the best places to live in the country. We know that from numerous independent studies, but we also know that we cannot take it for granted. So, we are ambitious for our District; we want everyone in Mole Valley to feel the benefits of our success. If you feel that this is the new challenge you are looking for, and you have the energy and enthusiasm to lead the way in delivering our vision for public services, we really want to hear from you.
